Guam trip Ⅱ: Oct. 20, 2005

Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, the second day in Guam

It's good to see the sunrise in Guam again! Last time was in 2003 I remembered. Also the same smell which was very familiar to me. A lot of clouds in the sky, but not rained for God's blessing. GTO was the tour guide who took me to the hotel “Royal Orchid Guam”. The hotel I lived this time was opposite the PIC which was the one I had lived last time. Therefore, I knew the area nearby. Especially the K-Mart, which I used to be there walking from PIC last time.

After checking in the hotel, and settled down the stuff in the room, I saw a rainbow across the beach through the window. Really amazing! I couldn't wait to take pictures for it. Even I was all very tired, but felt excited to take a walk to K-Mart to see if I did still remember the right direction. How good to test the memory! I bought a big bottle of water which could offer me these days here, and a bottle of bubble bath in lavender odor which was what I dreamed of in Taipei. The Sun was extremely big for me to have a sweaty walk under it. But, light of foot with many joys especially the rainbow was still there for me back to the hotel.

I took a nap very very deeply without having anything for lunch, after taking a colorful bubble bath. The alarm clock rang me at 1:30pm for there'll be a half day tour at 2 O'clock. Although I've being here once, I still need to recall Guam by anything. No mention it was free. So, the half day tour would be the good start for me.

This time was more clearly than last for the good weather! We went to Agana which is Guam's capital city and in the middle of Guam. There're many places to go, like Guam Park, Latte Stone Park, Governor House, and St. Maria’s Church… We also went to the Two Lovers Point, which is at the north of Guam and also have story to tell.

Need more information about the central Guam.

After half day city tour, we still got plenty of time before the show. I decided to have dinner in “Capricciosa”, the Italian food restaurant near the Sandcastle.
http://www.capricciosa.com/ I ordered the spaghetti with squid ink sauce, and the caesar salad with the roast chicken on it. Why I picked this restaurant and the sauce? For I've already known it from the tour guide book and recommended the squid ink sauce as the first top favorite. The salad was fine with the sour sauce, but the chicken was too dry to eat, not that good as Taiwan's. The pasta was really delicious, but too much to have. I asked the waitress to pack the rest to go. I found I have blacked my teeth and lips which looked like the vampire or the elderly who lost their teeth…very funny.

I arranged the magic show of Sandcastle at 8:30pm for tonight. Before the show started, I glanced around the lobby of the Sandcastle which was really like the palace. And people all line up for taking a photo shooting with the beauty on the golden ladder, who might be the prettiest one of the magic performer. She was so high and I even could be her chest, maybe I should also wear the skate for making me as high as she. Haha… While waiting for the show, I noticed that they hold the beauty contest for Queen of Sandcastle each year and put all the photos in a window. The Queen of Sandcastle were good, but they seems not the local people in Guam. They all looked like Japanese. So weird… After getting a glass of red wine, the show started. The subject for today’s show is “Magic on Ice!”, which designed by Jerry Jackson and played by Steve Sheeler, the magician. The musician, the dancer, and the magician were all good at ice skating. I bet if you saw this, you might like to be one of them, the professional skater. Very fantastic! The most surprising magic was the final part that Steve got him missed on the stage and show himself on my back. It's really! He made that. I tried to find if there's any tricks behind, but nothing found as a pity. What a magic~

The magic show of Sandcastle is a little expensive, but worth to have one chance to enjoy. Dinner show will be USD85, including a set of meal to have; cocktail show will be after the dinner show and cost USD65, including a cup of normal drink.

Tonight, I fell in sleep very quick after having the bubble bath…exhausted…
