Goldfish--the rescuer for you

Hey~I read a news online today that I think you will be definitely interested to know it. It’s something about the goldfish! There’s an old lady who got a terrible heart disease lives in Pennsylvania. She doesn’t have any pets, except some goldfishes. As the terrible disease, she set up an emergency alarm to 911 directly next to the fish tank and talked to the fishes day by day how to ring 911 if she got some troubles while she was feeding them. Later, one day at this cold month, she fainted from the heart disease and she couldn’t reach the emergency alarm…she thought she was going to die that day! But, suddenly her fishes jumped out of the tank one by one and all tried to fell on the alarm button. She was surprised about that! And one of the fish really dropped onto the alarm and called the 911 to rescue the old lady! It was a miracle, isn’t it? How could the goldfishes understand the situation? How could the goldfishes know human’s language that the old lady talked to them everyday? Yeah…but, it seems the truth that the goldfishes saved the old lady’s life~

Do you talk to your goldfish everyday? I think you’d better begin to train them to do something! Maybe one day, I could see you with your goldfishes on TV as they can play piano or sing a beautiful song for you… Or…they can answer the door or phone call for you…what a great pet! Haha! Wanna have one now?

Innocent Kids

This Sunday I glanced over an interesting joke in a bookstore. It was so cute and funny, which reminded me how innocent we were while we're kids. Kids became more and more complicated as we grew up. How could we go back to the age of sincerity and innocence? Have we lost these qualities? Maybe we've just hidden them in our very deep mind without showing it to people to make sure we've already become mature adults. Then, are we really happy to be considered grown-up?

I think the question is too serious to think about on this blue Monday…Let me share the very cute and funny joke with you and wishing you a happy working day~

Terrible "Two"

In a certain suburban neighborhood, there were two brothers, 8 and 10 years old, who were exceedingly mischievous. Whatever went wrong in the neighborhood, it nearly always turned out they had had a hand in it. Their parents were at their wits' end trying to control them and after hearing about a priest nearby who worked with delinquent boys, the mother suggested to the father that they ask the priest to talk to them.

The mother went to the priest and made her request. He agreed, but said he wanted to see the younger boy first and alone. So the mother sent him to the priest.

The priest sat the boy down across from the huge, impressive desk he sat behind. For about five minutes they just sat and stared at each other. Finally, the priest pointed his forefinger at the boy and asked, "Where is God?"

The boy looked under the desk, in the corners of the room, all around, but said nothing.

Again, louder, the priest pointed at the boy and asked, "Where is God?"

Again, the boy looked all around but said nothing. A third time, in a louder, firmer voice, the priest leaned far across the desk and put his forefinger almost to the boy's nose, and asked, "Where is God?"

The boy panicked and ran all the way home. Finding his older brother, he dragged him upstairs to their room and into the closet, where they usually plotted their mischief and quickly said, "We are in big trouble!"

The older boy asked, "What do you mean, big trouble?"

His brother replied, "God is missing and they think we did it!"

Eyelid Twitching

Have you ever got the eyelid twitch? On which eye?

Chaco, who is my best friend in Taipei, told me that he lost money today and his left eyelid has twitched all day long. He was unhappy about that and keeping talking the old saying must be wrong. There's an old saying that "Eyelid twitching on the left may hint you that you'll earn more money recently; Eyelid twitching on the right may give you the hint that you might get disasters these days". Chaco was expecting to get more money at the beginning while his eyelid twitched on the left for he went to buy several lotteries that more than he was used to. As we all know that God didn't take him as the lucky guy on that day. I tried to comfort him that it might become true later these days.

I think most of people have this kind of experience "eyelid twitching". I had too. But, I was not that positive thought as Chaco. I always be serious about everything during those days for I took the sign as a hint for something might be out of control. Preventing things from bad to worse. And it usually went well for me.

There's a different opinion on medicine. If you didn't sleep well or work too hard which might overwork your eyes, you will be very easy to get the eyelid twitching. And you may get worst, if you're also on a diet. There's another special view of Chinese medicine that you might not have enough "chi", the power of body. I think they're almost the same to explain the reason why you get the eyelid twitching. And that will answer to the old saying. For your body is so tired, you may doing things improperly which would get you into trouble easily.

Hence you need to take more rests and vitamins when your eyelid starts to twitch. Or you could try the traditional way that Taiwanese do: Pinching the twitching eyelid lightly with your own saliva and say “lucky me” three times only. They said it is really helpful. Have you ever got the eyelid twitch? On which eye? You may take a try if you can endure the spit dried on your eyelid...
